Quantum technologies – what’s behind them? What economic opportunities do they offer? And how is this topic being promoted in Braunschweig? These central questions were discussed intensively at the 40th Braunschweig Business Talk at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB).
Lower Saxony’s Science Minister Falko Mohrs, PTB President Cornelia Denz, Lord Mayor Thorsten Kornblum and the Managing Director of Braunschweig Zukunft GmbH, Gerold Leppa, welcomed more than 160 guests from business, science, politics and administration to PTB’s Kohlrauschbau.
Nicolas Spethmann, Larissa Braun and Magnus Zorn from PTB provided insights into the world of quantum technologies for an exciting evening. In addition to the global market potential of the new technologies, the diverse activities of the region in Quantum Valley Lower Saxony (QVLS) took centre stage. The future cluster QVLS-iLabs and the high-tech incubator QVLS-HTI stand out in particular as successful programmes that bring quantum research expertise into application.
Two start-ups from our Quantum Valley were particularly in the spotlight: CAVITY technologies and QubeDot GmbH presented their innovative ideas from the fields of laser stabilisation and micro-photonics and impressively demonstrated how quantum technologies are already being used in practice today.
It was a successful evening that further promoted the topic of quantum technologies in Braunschweig and showed exciting prospects for the future.
