QubeDot has a strong focus on the technology of GaN and GaN-based microLED technology. QubeDot’s goal is to be recognized as a leader in the application of microLED technology in Europe and to be the first company to make this technology available to a larger number of customers. QubeDot’s aim is not simply to commercialize the technology, e.g. by producing the smallest microLEDs or the ones with the most pixels, but to test ready-to-use solutions based on microLED technology for the customer. QubeDot was founded in May 2019 and the first microLED-based products are already being distributed by strategic retailers worldwide. QubeDot has developed SMILE technology® as a standard product.
SMILE is an acronym and stands for Structured Micro Illumination Light Engine. SMILE platforms consist of an array of 8×8 or 16×16 µLEDs and are supplied ready to use with drivers and user-friendly software. This package makes it very easy for customers to get in touch with µLED technology and check the feasibility of bilateral projects. QubeDot is able to produce almost any size of microLEDs in the range of 1 to 100 μm and has specialized in also offering the necessary software to control its devices. This strategy of not only producing microLEDs and arrays, but also integrating them into “real” products for end users in many different application areas is unique and cannot be found anywhere else. However, if customers want to produce larger LED chips or simply need processed LED wafers, QubeDot is happy to help.
