About QVLS – the ecosystem for breakthroughs in quantum technologies

Our Strategy

The further successful scaling of the QVLS ecosystem requires the closest possible cooperation between research, industry and politics. To this end, the partner organizations of the QVLS adopted a joint strategy in May 2021.

Our Partners

Within QVLS, local and global players from science and industry join forces to bring quantum technologies into application.

More than 400 researchers are already working at Leibniz Universität Hannover, TU Braunschweig, and the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt on quantum research and the key technologies required for this. Building on the successes to date, the Ministry of Science and Culture and the Volkswagen Foundation, together with leading research institutions and companies, launched the Quantum Valley Lower Saxony Initiative in 2020: a pooling of Lower Saxony’s expertise for international visibility and local value creation.

Our Activities

The Hannover-Braunschweig region can look back on numerous achievements in quantum research. In the QVLS, we promote the exchange in the ecosystem and jointly launch new projects.

25 million has already been made available as core funding for the QVLS-Q1 lighthouse project.
