QVLS is organizing a winter school for quantum information processing with trapped ions.

The school will be held from Feb 24th to Feb 28th in Hannover, Germany. Speakers will include Klemens Hammerer, Tobias Osborne, Christian Ospelkaus, Robert Raußendorf and Marius Schulte.

The school will cover a wide range of topics from trap technology over essential atomic physics to the basics of quantum error correction. The school will include lab visits and social events.

Successful participants will be provided with a certificate covering 4 ECTS points (recognition depends on participant’s university). To apply for participation, please send a meaningful application including motivation to info@qvls.de. There are a few spots left that will be filled as applications come in. Your application can optionally include a brief letter of recommendation from a supervisor / teacher / professor.

Das QVLS organisiert eine Winterschool für Quanteninformationsverarbeitung mit gefangenen Ionen.

Die Winterschool wird vom 24. bis 28. Februar in Hannover stattfinden. Zu den Referenten gehören Klemens Hammerer, Tobias Osborne, Christian Ospelkaus, Robert Raußendorf und Marius Schulte.

Die Winterschool wird ein breites Spektrum an Themen abdecken, von der Trap Technology über grundlegende Atomphysik bis hin zu den Grundlagen der Quantenfehlerkorrektur. Die Winterschool wird Laborbesuche und gesellschaftliche Veranstaltungen umfassen.

Erfolgreiche Teilnehmer erhalten ein Zertifikat, das 4 ECTS-Punkte umfasst (die Anerkennung hängt von der Universität des Teilnehmers ab). Um sich für die Teilnahme zu bewerben, senden Sie bitte eine aussagekräftige Bewerbung inklusive Motivation an info@qvls.de. Es sind noch einige Plätze frei, die nach Reihenfolge des Bewerbungseingangs gefüllt werden. Optional kann Ihrer Bewerbung ein kurzes Empfehlungsschreiben eines Betreuers / Lehrers / Professors beigefügt werden.
