The transition from cutting-edge research to competitive technologies is one of the central challenges in today’s innovation landscape. Within the Hightech Agenda Deutschland (HTAD), partner dialogues play a key role in addressing this challenge with bringing together stakeholders from across the ecosystem to collaboratively shape strategic roadmaps.

With the participation of Christian Ospelkaus and representatives from research, industry, startups, associations, as well as federal and state governments, the recent dialogue on quantum technologies once again highlighted the importance of these coordinated processes.

Quantum technologies, in particular, require early and deliberate alignment. Many developments are still at a relatively low level of technological maturity, making it essential to strengthen the ecosystem at an early stage, prepare pathways for application, and build long-term technological sovereignty.

From the perspective of Quantum Valley Lower Saxony (QVLS), the partner dialogue held on 21 January reinforces the value of a networked approach. Meaningful progress emerges where stakeholders across research, industry, policy, and regional ecosystems work together toward shared, long-term goals. Roadmap processes can provide important orientation—especially when regional strengths are actively integrated into broader strategies.

Lower Saxony contributes a strong research landscape alongside growing industrial connections in the quantum sector. The ongoing federal-level dialogues underline how crucial it is to embed these regional capabilities within national and European frameworks, while continuing to strengthen exchange across the entire innovation chain.
