Today marked one of the most important events of the year for Germany’s innovation landscape: the official kick-off of Germany’s Hightech Agenda, and QVLS was prominently represented.
During the breakout session “Shaping the Future with Quantum Technologies,” our first chair, Prof. Dr. Christian Ospelkaus had the opportunity to present our work and strategic vision directly to Dorothee Bär, Federal Minister for Research, Technology and Space as one of only four selected panelists. The expectations for the quantum community are clear: deliver technology transfer with real industrial participation, and create tangible economic impact in Germany. At QVLS, we are fully prepared to deliver exactly that.
Our quantum ecosystem is the only registered association in Germany in which:
->75% of official members are companies, start-ups, and industrial partners
->25% are leading research institutions
This structure is intentional and strategic. It ensures that industrial needs, scalability, and commercialization are built into decision-making from the start, not as an afterthought.
In only three years, more than 15 quantum start-ups have emerged within our QVLS Hight-Tech Incubator. They are not only funded, they are actively integrated into the network, supported strategically, and connected with strong partners to accelerate their path to market.
We are proud to be one of only seven Clusters4Future in Germany, selected from 117 proposals in the second round across all fields by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung to drive collaboration between research and industry and accelerate the development of real-world products.
We are also pleased that one of our industry members, Dr. Michael Förtsch, CEO of Q.ANT, is and continues to be a strong voice in shaping the Hightech Agenda. His contribution today exemplified the critical leadership role of deep-tech industry in advancing quantum technologies.
Complementing this association structure, QVLS Innovation GmbH will play a central operational role in advancing quantum technologies toward market readiness. As our implementation arm, it focuses on enabling industrial use cases, coordinating technology transfer programs, and building the infrastructure required for commercial scaling, including shared labs, prototyping spaces, and targeted innovation services.
At QVLS, we are ready. We are ambitious. And together with our broad community of industry and research partners, we are leading the way in turning quantum innovation into real technological and economic success for Germany.
