SUMMARY:QuantumFrontiers MasterClass: Gravitationswelleninterferometrie
DESCRIPTION:In dieser MasterClass geht es um die Kunst der Detektion von Gravitationswellen mittels Laserinterferometrie. Dabei soll den Lernenden nicht nur das theoretische Wissen über die allgemeine Relativitätstheorie\, sondern auch praktische Erfahrungen zu Experimenten mit Laserinterferometrie vermittelt werden. Letzteres kann je nach verfügbaren Räumlichkeiten und Interesse des Kurses mit Experimentieren am Michelsoninterferometer oder durch Nutzung von Simulationsprogrammen erreicht werden. \nDie Allgemeine Relativitätstheorie wird in ihrer populärwissenschaftlichen Vermittlung oft auf eine Aneinanderreihung von eindrucksvollen Bildern und „seltsamen Phänomenen“ reduziert. Dieses Vorgehen soll in der MasterClass explizit vermieden werden. Stattdessen sollen mit Hilfe altersgerechter Mathematik die Theorie als mathematisches Modell der Wirklichkeit eingeführt und ihre Konsequenzen explizit berechnet werden. \nGravitationswelleninterferometrie ist ein vielseitiges und hochaktuelles — nicht zuletzt durch die Vergabe des Physiknobelpreises 2017 — Forschungsthema\, welchem sich auch Wissenschaftler*innen innerhalb des Excellenzclusters QuantumFrontiers widmen. \nDer Kurs dauert etwa sechs Zeitstunden und findet an der Leibniz Universität Hannover statt. Er ist für Schülerinnen und Schüler ab der Einführungsphase geeignet und setzt keine Kentnisse der Quantenphysik heraus. Bei höheren Jahrgangsstufen (vor allem Physik-LK\, 13. Klasse) ist es möglich ihn gezielt an curriculare Unterrichtsthemen anzubinden. Den Teilnehmenden entstehen keine Kosten. \n\n\n– geeignet für 11. – 13. This seminar aims to learn broader topics involved in QuantumFrontiers science. \nTitle\nControl of point defect density in GaInN/GaN quantum wells: The underlayer as a diffusion barrier\, regardless of its composition. \nAbstract\nWelcome to explore one important mechanism that affects the point defect density in the active region of light-emitters. This talk is aimed at presenting evidences for point defect diffusion\, and hence how to control the defect density in GaInN/GaN quantum wells by using proper growth conditions.
