SUMMARY:Baltic-German WE-Heraeus-Seminar: Quantum Sensors\, Devices and Materials
DESCRIPTION:Active research collaboration between German and Latvian scientists currently spans a number of exciting research areas of quantum science and technology including single-electron nanoelectronics\, novel 2D materials\, quantum magnetometry with levitated\, atomic\, and colour – centre magnets\, and single-photon emitters among others. This Workshop will bring together representatives of the diverse research communities with a goal of fostering cross-topic “fertilization” and strengthening and broadening the bi-national cooperation\, as well as expanding international collaboration beyond the two nations\, in particular to the Baltic scene on synergetic topics. The workshop\, open to international participation beyond Baltics and Germany\, will feature overview talks by top experts in the respective fields\, contributed talks and posters\, and plentiful opportunities for informal interactions in a beautiful setting of the Bad Honnef Physics Center. \nThe conference features list of prominent invited speakers and will bridge the gap between solid-state\, atomic\, and topologically protected quantum technologies very much in the spirit of QuantumFrontiers:\nhttps://www.we-heraeus-stiftung.de/veranstaltungen/quantum-sensors-devices-and-materials/invited-speakers/ \nApplication is open until January 11. For all participants\, complimentary on-site and full-board accommodation is provided by the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation\, and there is no conference fee.\nFeel free to participate (or to send your students to) in this exciting seminar! \nThe conference language will be English. \nhttps://www.we-heraeus-stiftung.de/veranstaltungen/quantum-sensors-devices-and-materials/main/

SUMMARY:QBN Webinar: Standardisation and Certification of Quantum Technologies
DESCRIPTION:As quantum technologies move from research to real-world deployment\, standardisation and certification are becoming decisive factors for market adoption\, interoperability\, and trust. In this upcoming QBN Webinar\, we bring together experts from research and industry to examine the current state of these processes across the quantum ecosystem. \nThe session will explore how standards are shaping the future of quantum technologies — and where the community has concrete opportunities to engage and influence developments across quantum computing\, quantum communication\, and quantum sensing. \nWhether you are developing quantum hardware or software\, working on applications\, or involved in policy and strategy\, this webinar offers strategic context on how the quantum field is organising itself at a systemic level. \nKey perspectives: \n• Ongoing national and international standardisation activities across quantum technologies\n• Current status and maturity of standardisation and certification frameworks\n• Concrete mechanisms for community engagement and contribution\n• Interactive exchange with experts from research and industry \nFeatured Speakers: \n\nThomas Gerster\, Scientific Researcher\, PTB\nValentin Torggler\, Quantum Hardware Theoris / IP Manager\, ParityQC\nMore to be announced soon\n\nHow to join: \nRegister via our website to take part in the Zoom session and engage directly with experts and peers from the global quantum community. \nWe look forward to an engaging and constructive exchange with you!
