DESCRIPTION:Die 9. Maker Faire Hannover findet vom 19.-20. August 2023 im Hannover Congress Centrum (Niedersachsenhalle\, Eilenriedehalle\, Glashalle\, Future Meeting Space) und angrenzendem Außenbereich auf rund 7.000 qm Ausstellungsfläche statt. \nDie niedersächsische Kultusministerin Julia Willi Hamburg besuchte am Samstag das Leibniz Lab of Optics and Photonics (LLOOP) auf der Maker Faire Hannover. Am Stand informierte sich die Ministerin über die an der Leibniz Universität Hannover entwickelten Low-Cost High-Tech Experimente für den Einsatz im Schulunterricht. In Zusammenarbeit mit der Universität Münster wurden in den schulischen Angeboten der Exzellenzcluster PhoeniXD und Quantumfrontiers sowie des Sonderforschungsbereichs DQ-mat Unterrichtskonzepte und kostengünstige Experimente aus dem 3D Drucker entwickelt\, die es ermöglichen moderne Physik im Schulunterricht erfahrbar zu machen. \n\n  \nThe 9th Maker Faire Hannover will take place from August 19-20\, 2023 at the Hannover Congress Centrum (Niedersachsenhalle\, Eilenriedehalle\, Glashalle\, Future Meeting Space) and adjacent outdoor area on about 7\,000 sqm exhibition space. \nLower Saxony’s Minister of Education Julia Willi Hamburg visited the Leibniz Lab of Optics and Photonics (LLOOP) at Maker Faire Hannover on Saturday. At the booth\, the minister learned about the low-tech\, high-tech experiments developed at Leibniz Universität Hannover for use in the classroom. In collaboration with the University of Münster\, teaching concepts and low-cost experiments from the 3D printer were developed in the school offerings of the PhoeniXD and Quantumfrontiers clusters of excellence and the collaborative research center DQ-mat\, which make it possible to experience modern physics in the classroom.

SUMMARY:DQ-mat Summer School
DESCRIPTION:DQ-Mat invites up to 30 M.Sc.-level students to attend the 1st DQ-mat Summer School on Quantum States of Matter: Fundamental Physics and Applications hosted at Leibniz University Hannover. \nThe lectures\, delivered by experts in the fields of quantum gases\, quantum optics and metrology\, aim at preparing the next generation of young researchers in these fields. \nThey will be complemented by several tutorials and lab tours at the Leibniz University and the National Metrology Institute (PTB). \nAccommodation as well as participation is free of charge for the selected attendees.
